A recruiter's guide to consent-led outreach

Reaching senior talent on Korum is different from sourcing on a job board. You are contacting people who are private by choice. Consent-led outreach is not a constraint - it is what makes these candidates reachable at all.
Start with fit, not identity
For a confidential professional you see an alias, a seniority band, industry and skills. That is enough to judge fit. Lead with the role and why it matches - not with a demand to know who they are.
Express interest, then wait for consent
When you reach out to a confidential professional, they receive your interest and decide. If they approve, a masked conversation opens and your credits are applied. If they decline, you are refunded. Approval is their consent - respect it as the start of a real conversation.
For discoverable professionals
Messaging a discoverable professional is free and opens the conversation immediately. Their contact details still require a deliberate reveal - so even here, the professional stays in control of how far things go.
Good practice
- Be specific about the role and why it fits
- Never pressure for a reveal before there is mutual interest
- Assume the person is employed and cautious - because they are
Consent-led access filters out noise. The professionals who respond are genuinely interested, which makes every conversation worth more.
